Regarding power of attorney? My niece's mom get surrounded by a serious happenstance.?
My niece, as next of kin, has given blessing for surgery for her mom but the towing yard said she can't get her mom's ID out of the wrecked vehicle unless she have durable power of attorney. Assuming mom will be coherent enough to sign the documents, (and how does a notary verify her ID when it's locked in the sports car?) will becoming POA make the daughter liable for any debts that mom has, including the hospital?
