What to do if your quirk attorney won't return your call?
I was in an auto misfortune 22 months ago and to this day it still hasn't settled. I was 0% at reprimand and the attorney is suing the guy who hit me for medical injuries, (my C5 vertebrae was knocked out of place) and personal losses, (my totaled car). Over yesteryear 22 months I have never spoken to the attorney once and have individual dealt with one of his paralegals/assistants.
What I don't comprehend is that for the first year I was called once every 2-3 months, but in a minute I don't get any calls. About 4 or 5 months after I stopped getting call I started to wonder what was going on with my suitcase. Since I wasn't getting any calls I began calling once a month, for former times 7 months, just trying to get an update on what's going on. Over this time I enjoy only been competent to speak to an office secretary, was told to move a message, and that I would be called back, I enjoy yet to receive 1 call fund.
Does anyone know if not returning calls is standard practice if the client have not pressured or bugged the attorney once? Not returning calls for a quick 3-5 minute update once every 3 months does not appear very professional to me and I'm starting to wonder if this attorney I picked was a dud.
Could my covering of been abandoned even though the attorney has been within business for over 20 years?
What would be a reasonable contact time frame to be kept in the loop of what's going on?
I enjoy been very tolerant and very easy going next to them. I never missed a single treatment appointment and have not called to nag them going on for "when my case will settle" once.
Anybody's personal experience or 2 cents would be greatly appreciated as I'm about primed make the 30 mile drive down to their office so I can finally catch an answer.

This is a serious breach of this lawyer's obligation to you, his client. You should leave him an extra phone call or send him a missive letting him know that if he doesn't return your call within one week, you will be reporting him to the tenet society (your state bar). The law societies take this considerate of thing very seriously. If you don't hear spinal column from him, you should report him to the law society. As lawyers, we are trained to be sensitive to the reality that clients need to know what is happening near their files. It is unacceptable to have not returned a call upon for more than six months. I've worked as support staff in a few regulation firms for the past 10 years. I can tell you that abundantly of attorneys have trouble returning calls. However, I've never worked for an attorney that have never returned a call. My suggestion would be to call and ask to speak to senior partner or one of your attorney's greater ups and explain the situation. If that doesn't work, I would suggest finding another attorney.
