Pedestrian luck and attorney?
Last weekend I was hit by the car while crossing the street. I own a medical and police report, 4 witnesses. I'm still in pain, but nought is broken. The problem is that I myself don't have an insurance. I can't pay my medical bills. The doctor said I can't even budge to school or work for 2 weeks. I'm looking for the attorney, should I?
"> Yes, you should. Please remember tho - just because you own hired an attorney to handle your claim, you are still resonsible for any medical bills incurred. Some medical providers will put a lien on the settlement and just continue to be paid once the case is settled. Some providers will not do that.
My best direction to you is to be treated at a county hospital or like-facility where they cannot turn you away for lack of insurance. Many even set aside "insurance-type" programs. You need to continue treatment until released by the doctors because any distance in treatment will not be seen favorably by the defendant's insurance.
Best of luck to you Source(s): personal injury paralegal
you enjoy options. First of all you be hit by a car which makes this a motor vehicle twist of fate. DO you have car insurance, if so you can claim the bills beneath your medical payments or PIP insurance. Even though you were a pedestiran the cause be an auto accident which is allowable under the policy.
Second you can verbs treating and once you are done treating, they will offer you a lump sum payment base on many factors. This can sometimes whip a while.
The attorney question is really up to you. An attorney will not get this done for your any quicker. Also hang on to in mind that an attorney will take a third of anything that you own comeing to you and this is BEFORE the bills are paid. this is right off the top.
