Can the state of massachusetts arrest me within the state of florida for a minor criminal defense?

Mass can issue a warrant and then ask Florida cops to serve it. You are then held contained by a Florida jail pending extradition to Mass. The temperament of the crime does not matter, although as a practical matter Mass might desire not to extradict for a minor crime, and then you get out of detention centre. The warrant remains active, however, and so the next time you take stopped you go back to detain until Mass again indicates that they will not extradict. For that reason, if it is indeed a minor crime, you may want to contact the prosecutor in Mass. and see what sort of agreement might be reach.
Depends on how the warrant is written. Some warrant have geographical limitations (hence whether or not they will extradite you or not)

Mickey is correct. Florida can arrest you for an offense committed surrounded by their jurisdiction, but they cant touch you unless there is a warrant out for your arrest. Only warrants for extradictable offenses are enter into the national criminal databases. If it is such a minor offense, you should return to MA to clear up the issues.

Defense? I think you scrounging offense. Florida is not going to extradite for minor offenses (misdemeanors) and Massachusetts isn't going to waste the time and man power to come get you for impossible to tell apart reason.
Cops have better things to do. That and jail are over crowded. So unless you commit a serious crime you are probably OK.
