I need help on finding out what a defense advocate is.
Answers:
A defense lawyer is the lawyer who represents the accuse (the "defendant") in a criminal prosecution.

He may be hired directly by the defendant himself, or appointed by the State if the accused can't afford his own. (A Public Defender)
