Can a relative Attorney represent you contained by Divorce/Custody cases? (Mich.)?
I am in the Army, and during my deployment my wife left me. I never saw it coming and she departed because she was bored. Unfortunately we have a 2yr matured son together which means putting him through this custody crap.
When we went to court for the divorce i could not afford a advocate because she stuck me with all of our loved ones bills and debts and due to the military's rules I was forced to pay her a sizeable part of my salary until we be officially divorced.
Lucky for her, her Aunt is a lawyer within our home state, so her aunt represented her and submitted all the documents for her, while I was gone to represent myself.
In short, It seems that having a relative represent you can be see as shady, she puts in that she wants me to remuneration Attorney fees, when I know damn well her Aunt will never charge her $1.
Also, i am getting ready to appeal the custody, I orginally agreed to paying $700 a month within child support and she said she would let me see my son whenever my job permitted and presently she wont even answer my calls when I ask to speak to my son, so I want to know if its legal for her aunt to represent her, since Im trying to squirrel away up money to have a lawyer for the custody skirmish, it sucks thinking that she wont spend a penny.
