Any probono lawyer liable to assist within file for a divorce i.e. not contested.?
i need a pro-bono lawyer quickely who would be of a mind to assist me in doing my own uncontested divorce. i have my own paperwork and can do my own foot work. i can't even afford the file fee. help

BUT you can add it into your final law that he is obligated to pay your filing fees and court costs, not that he will in actuality do it. So come up with the money 180-250 dollar, go to the court house, report the paper work you already have, Set up a court date, 60-90 days then, Have your final divorce decree ready. If he isnt going to be present later you have to have a waiver signed my him, you and a notary public. Thats give or take a few all you can do. Call your local State's Attorneys bureau and tell them you are low income and need a pro bono attorney to assistance you with a divorce. I went through this myself within IL. They gave me a # and I went through an application process and they get me an attorney. However don't expect this to be done quickly- if you are waiting for a pro bono attorney the process can take some time. I was competent to get an attorney in more or less a month and a half, but again it depends on the state you live in, the application process, your expert situation, etc. You can also contact your local Bar Association as well.

P.S. The Legal Aid Assoc. in my state one and only offered an attorney on a sliding scale basis and the ones that did pro bono through them have a mile long waiting list. Also, because of my situation, my Lawyer paid my file fees.

you don't want a lawyer for this divorce, go to the organization supply store or Legalzoom.com and download the paperwork, take it to the courthouse pay the file fee and have it file.a pro-bono lawyer doesn't pay for the file fee anyway, he just doesn't charge for doing the leg work
