I don't know how much this will help but from personal experience if your spouse is a shake the best thing is to get some sensitive of advice/consultation before file. There could be greatly of things. If you can prove he is a cheater you can get a divorce in 30 days but if it will take a year and you can not have equal residency. Do your research for your state and county before you file.

did you force him to cheat? was he getting the love he needed from you or did you force him to find it somewhere else? and im sure this wasnt the first time he treated you this process and you still had kids with him. sounds similar to you should try some other way then going thru a divorce. conceivably like making him feel resembling the other woman makes him feel. at some point you must enjoy had feelings for him and you can other get that back.
if you have a sneaking suspicion that lawyers will take your money try to lift your kids by yourself and see how well you can do. paying for all the bills and the wants of your kids will be twice as hard if you only enjoy your money and the child support. it just wont do and is that really whats best for your kids. or are you just thinking of whats best for you?
if you must bring a lawyer you and you future ex can use one and the same lawyer and that would save partially the money. but really think hard if this is surrounded by your kids best interest and do you want to only see your kids half the time? he will grasp to have them sometime and you need to reflect about that also.

Yes, you can download the forms online for your state, or you can go to your local stationary store and capture them.
Go to your state gov page and want the papers needed. However, I would seek a reputable divorce attorney in your nouns to answer your legal questions. A consultation levy should be minimal. It isn't necessary to hire one. Make your intentions clear up front. Last item on the agenda, REMAIN amicable!
Good Luck.
