Dui HELP Please!! Should I bring back an Attorney?
I blew a 2.2 and a 2.1. The officer says I refused a chemical trial, which I sort of did by refusing to CHOOSE blood or urine, but I didn't understand why he needed a chemical interview when he had 3 different breathalizer tests. Anyway, I know I deserved the dui, the just thing I have a problem beside is the refusal part which could cause me to lose my license for a year. This is my first dui, any comments or suggestion are appreciated.
Sincerely,
I really am sorry I put nation in harms way

Whether you hire an attorney or not, you'll lose your license for refusal.
you are gonna lose your license either way, any for being guilty of the dui, or for refusing. if you are guilty, plead guilty, pick up the money, pay your fine, get your DL vertebrae, and dont do it again.
but , you have the right to an attorney, but he is gonna tell you impossible to tell apart thing. if you are under 21 , apply for adolescent offender or first offender conduct yourself....that way it wont be on your record forever
if you had a blood alcohol level of 2.2 you would be inert
You should get an attorney. You will most likely acquire your license suspended Source(s): Me - Police Dispatcher
It's not your brief to understand why the officer needed the chemical test, maybe it was to see if you were on anything else. Seriously, you couldn't merely pee in the cup? Fact is he asked you for one, you refused, and thus you hold the refusal added to your list of charges. At almost 3x over the limit, you're license is gone for a while no thing what.

First off I doubt if you tested a 2.1 or a 2.2 it might of been .22 or .21. Since the permitted limit is .08 in most states, you be more then twice the legal constrict and in some states that would put in you the cost phase that is the same as a 2nd DUI.
Back to your interrogate, YES, get a attorney. If you can't afford a attorney, then when you stir to court the first time to plea guilty or not guilty, plead not guilty and get a Public Defender. If you feel close to you won't qualify for a Public Defender because you make too much money, then hire attorney right away. I am not sure where on earth you live, I have known empire who have paid any where on earth from $1000 to $2500 for their attorney. With a test as high as yours, I would hire a attorney.
Start abiding your money besides attorney fees, you are going to have fines and court costs, fees to get your license rear after suspension and if you get lucky and get to attend a intervention program and not put inside that will cost too.
Things could of been a lot worse, you could of hurt or kill someone. There is nothing wrong with going out and drinking a few, however sorry you found out the thorny way a taxi would of be a lot cheaper.
near a 2.1 you deserve to lose your license for a year.
