What does an attorney charge for a first time DUI?

Answers:
There was a bag in MD where a attorney was placed on indefinite suspension because he collected fees but provided little or no representation to clients. In fact, other "subcontracted" lawyer would represent clients where the "subcontracted" lawyer did not get together the client until the day of the trial.

Most clients paid $600 to $800 for DUI cases and the attorney substandard to represent them effectively - resulting in convictions and jail sentences. I would not recommend going next to an attorney who sends mass mailings but visit http://www.findlaw.com to find competent DUI defense attorneys in your state.

Most clients near effect representation usually get 1 year probation before decision with an ignition interlock - if found guilty - that is surrounded by MD. Some states may have tougher or less restrictive DUI law. Good luck.
Money. Ha! I kill myself sometimes!
Get a public defender. If they tested your blood alcohol or gave you a breathalyzer your screwed anyhow. If its your first offense they will place you on ARD( Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition). It is not place on your diary as a misdemeanor. The public defender is free and will do the same for you.
I paid $6k for mine and got out of the dui. I be 23 years old so I figured the return on the investment be there as I did not want the record. If you're elder, a dui is not the end of the world.

My biggest concern was that you can't acquire two dui's and I didn't want to always be scared to drive home from events when I have two or three beers.

To your question, I paid $6k. I recommend interviewing 3 to 6 dui lawyer. You'll get a lot of free info from those interviews. Use a dui lone lawyer, not a general legal representative.

Good luck.
50 bucks
too much
You should be delivery more legal ads contained by your mail box than it can hold. Once you're ticketed it becomes public skill. Pick the most reasonable one and no more drinking and driving, my kids and grandkids are out there!
vary by case and attorney most will do free consultation then put in the picture you what they want for retainer and services
Depends on how much you blew and what the circumstances are. This will depend on what kind of lawyer you requirement and what to spend. 1500-1800 is about right. But bear surrounded by mind spending the money is well worth it.

If convicted your insurance rates will go process up for years. Any sort of job that requires a background check (even construction nowdays) could send regrets to hire you. Point is an extra thousand spent now will save much more than that latter. And what happens say 8 years from in a minute and you had a glass of wine or two at dinner and find pulled again? At that point the cost and penalties will be HUGE.

The prosecuters have to maintain money and time spent. If you have a good advocate he will have an appeal all equipped to go. So it is cheaper for them to cut you a better deal and step after the next ten who have a cheap legal representative. The judges and prosecuters know all of the lawyer and will know where you sit in the food tie up.

If you were not super over a lawyer can dumb this down to unwise. If you are really cooked the lawyer can continue the travel case to a later time. In the meantime you could take alchohol awareness classes (ASAP) voluntarily since court. Yes it will cost a couple of hundred bucks. But if convicted or even dropped to reckless you will have to bring them anyway. I have several friends who did this and got a much better operation.

Talk to several lawyers and see what they have to articulate. A good one will pull out a wad and ask about every single detail. A lousy one will just give somebody a lift a note or two and say you will be fine.

Good luck.
