The only channel I've seen a lawyer give support to, was to get the trial moved to the county contained by which the defendant lived. I think they do that automatically if you're a juvi. They also may get the charge reduced to foolish op, but the penalty would probably be the same. Your driving diary should be cleared when you turn 18 anyways.
I have seen defendants use lawyer (including indigent defense) and without lawyers for DUI's and the outcome be all the same. The Judges usually hold to follow the law for that particular offense- which that would depend on your state. For example, a 17 yr ripened that was convicted of a DUI might be put on Probation, lose their DL, have to complete an alcohol and drug evaluation, community service work, and complete Risk Reduction. However, your state might consider the 17 year old-fashioned a Juvenile and require different conditions. Since a local lawyer usually knows the Judges and the Solicitors, the attorney can guide you better. You can also contact the Solicitor's office your self and ask them what to expect. Source(s): PO
I get caught drink driving many years ago had a single coup¨¦ accident and blew .194.I got a legal representative who thought he could get me off,but it be a waste of time, because I still lost my licence for twelve months and a hefty fine. But being beneath age it probably wouldnt hurt to get a lawer but as you know they are expensive. It could pay sour.Hope this helps.
Depends on the circumstances. In NY alcohol related offenses are not open to retrenchment ... you are tried for the offense you were charged with.
A attorney might be able to keep the fines, fees, and loss of driving privileges to a minimum, but the 17 year ripened alcohol offender's goose would still be pretty much cooked in New York.
A lawyer may not comfort that much, but it definitely won't hurt to have one.
mojz, Last month I get a DUI. In my state a 0.08 is considered too drunk to drive. I'm not sure what the limit is in Oklahoma. Try calling a DUI legal representative for a free evaluation. http://www.findaduilawyeronline.com
You have the right to a public protector. Depending on how much you make or your parents make, you will own to pay some amount of money. Get a lawyer though. They will give support to keep you out of jail. A DUI charge as a 17 yr outdated, you'll most likely be charged as an adult.
