What is the difference between a DUI, DWI and OWI?

What is the difference between a driving under the influence, driving while intoxicated and operating while intoxicated? Is it the state's classification of what they want to call it or is it something else?
Answers:
Yeah, different states phone it different things. Where I'm from it's DUI, other states call it DWI. Different names for same entry.
Driving under the influence does not necessarily have to be the influence of alcohol. It can be the influence of prescription drugs, non prescription drugs and so on. DWI mechanism what it says same with OWI and OVI. In South Carolina in attendance is also DUAC (Driving with an Unlawful Alcohol Concentration) along with DUI. So yeah it can depend on the State but also on the wording of the tenet. Best thing to do is if you have a mixture of these surrounded by your state just read what the law say (WARNING THE STATE LAWS CONTAIN LEGAL LAWYER TALK)(means it doesn't always make sense).
