Michigan used to have a two-tiered standard where .10 BAC be considered DWI (drunk) and .08 was DUI (impaired). Now they just hold a single limit of .08 (and I think if you are below 21, the limit is .02). Their slogan is "Lower Limit, Tougher Law".

Now, I think the merely distinction between DUI and DWI in Michigan is that DUI could be driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medication, etc... while DWI is driving while intoxicated by merely alcohol (.08 or .02 if you are under 21).
