My son was attacked and suffered a fractured skull. The other guy says it weas 'mutual', even though he lone had a scratch and my son didn't even know the guy, who come to my son's neighbor to hassle someone else about an ex. Come on very soon... I'm going to give you advice: don't be in motion and bail your son out. I've seen parents get involved, and they closing stages up "saving" their son until they die. I've seen it in my kinfolk, and I know that you feel bad for your son. He's tougher than you chew over, if you'll let him be.
as an officer for 12 years, i'd question your son a bit more. be exceptionally careful as he is going to tell you what make him look innocent or less guilty of anything. don't be a gullible parent and believe your child has no responsibility or involvement contained by this. very, very, greatly rarely have i encounter situations where two people scrap where they did not know each other even the slightest. there's some desperate blood there from some point in time.
the police are not the ones who establish prosecution, it's your county/city district attorney who makes that decision. ask them to forward the report bad for review by the district attorney. it is not my choice as an officer to decide what i forward to the DA or not. if my victim, regardless of what i believe about the case (if in attendance is some type of crime, such as mutual battery) wants it to go to the DA, I own an obligation to send it past its sell-by date for review at least.
