In what situation do lawyer come to your house?

Today I came home and there be a note on the door from a lawyer, the department was closed and so I was incompetent to call and find out what they needed. For what reasons would a legal representative come to your house.
Answers:
Possibly to serve papers on you.
surrounded by the middle of the night to suck the blood right out ... check for fang results in your wallet!

just kid. i can't think of any... do you know of anyone who may be filing a claim against you? he might enjoy been serving you with a concentration. (as to why he didn't have a clerk or someone else do it, who knows... possibly a solo practicioner who can't afford to hire help)

best thing to do is to check his license by going to your state's bar website and see if this personality is even a real lawyer.
Most cases in which lawyer come to you house is only AFTER you have contacted them first next to a potentially great case. Otherwise, it might be that the attorney thinks you are a potential witness or, it could be (very unlikely) an attorney who is too poor to hire a process server to serve you beside papers. Curious. But, you can either call, or see if it is defining enough for them to attempt to contact you again. Finally, if you are wary, dispatch them a certified letter asking that they state your business to you in writing just and not come to your personal home.
1. someone from the organization may have tried to serve you with a subpoena or a complaint;

2. Your great aunt Delia died and moved out you a fortune in her will.
Lawyers don't usually jump to your house unless there is a great case involve (i.e. personal injury) where on earth the party cannot make it to your house. Another idea could be that the lawyer cannot afford a process server to serve the legal documents so he would do it himself. Good luck.
Collections. That is the only reason....,( and if you are dating one, he comes to your house too)
Well, unless he have no assistants, he is not coming to collect money from you. Lawyers do not serve their own papers. He may be trying to take a deposition in a baggage you may be inadvertantly involved iin, but normally they would call you surrounded by advance. They may have be out to talk to a neighbor and wanted to see if you know them. Call them back, just don't answer the door until you confer to him...
They solely come upon request. Are you sure it was a lawyer and not a process server?
There is something not right here. I'm an attorney and we do not go to someone's home on business unless that person invited us. It's a pious way to get shot. If it be to serve papers, then it's an attorney with FAR TOO MUCH time on his hand.

I have doubts it really was an attorney, and if it be, I have SERIOUS doubts as to that attorney's abilities. Contact your own attorney.
