I am looking into becoming a lawyer. What are some peoples opinion on self a lawyer? what is some good ruling schools? What all do you hold to do to become a lawyer when you leave lofty school? What do i need to do to prepare to be a attorney?
Answers:
You need to graduate from the top of your class from a top ten university. You need to grasp the top scores on your lsat. Other than that you need to work on your computer skills, your analytical skills and most importantly you inevitability to work on your communication skills. If you can not write, do not even try to become an attorney. It is pretty much pointless, Source(s): Paralegal for 13 years.
Warning! Jobs in the field of Law are drying up FAST!! This is not a moral field to invest time and/or money into. This is a SHRINKING vocational field. Many reason. THE main reason?..We simply own WAY TOO MANY Legal Professionals - we have an absolute GLUT!! ("Legal Professionals" includes, but is not fixed to: Attorneys/Lawyers, Paralegals, Legal Assistants, Legal Secretaries, Bailiffs, Court Reporters, etc, etc)
Law school will cost approx $150,000+.
Even IF you finish law arts school, you won't be able to find a job when you are done. Since this vocational paddock is shrinking, many new attorneys/lawyers are, themselves, have to work "down" as Paralegals, Legal Assistants, Legal Secretaries, Bailiffs, Court Reporters, etc, etc, to simply try to keep some of THEIR bills paid <THIS would be your competition. And the competition is FIERCE!!
Now... the directive schools know this, but they won't tell you the truth >that the commission market/economy is SATURATED with WAY TOO MANY Legal Professionals. Instead the schools will nurture you a fairytale and will LIE to you. AND the schools continue to conscript and churn out even MORE Legal Professionals.....

In the book "So You Want to be a Lawyer? by Marianne Calabrese and susanne Calabrese (ISBN 0-88391-136-1): "The United States have more lawyers than any other country in the world. About 38,000 students graduate EACH YEAR from 200 directive schools in the United States. The competition is unbelievably keen for jobs and clients." The root of the problem is we enjoy too many law school.
If you want a JOB when you are done with your studies, consider and look into the field of HEALTHCARE! <THIS is where on earth the jobs are! and scholarships!
Good luck.
