It's not a lemon, it's worn out. Source(s): An oral agreement is worth the paper it's written on.
Lesson learned.
You didn't tell us where you bought it or what the arrangement be. If you bought it as is, then you bought it as is. If you bought it used from an individual, then it's assumed beneath law that you bought it as is. This means that you are on your own. If you bought it from a vehicle lot, then SOMETIMES there is some gentle of assumed warranty depending on your local laws. However, even under most state's lemon law, it'll be hard to prove in court on a motor with that many miles that you didn't name-calling the car.
I'm sorry for the bad report, but you always take likelihood when you buy used high mileage vehicles.
In California the lemon law does cover used vehicles but as Grease Monkey said it depends on where on earth you bought it and if it came with a make warranty. Massachusetts does have a Lemon Law and it does cover used vehicles so if you didn't buy "As Is" you may own a shot. Source(s): Lemon Law The Standard Reference Guide by Norman F. Taylor
In most states, don't know roughly speaking MA, Lemon Laws apply only to new vehicle.
