Is in attendance a website beside any information something like a lemon ruling pertaining to used vehicle?
my husband recently purchased a used truck from a person who buys from auctions and individuals and resales for profit. he be recently in an quirk in Houston, Tx, when his brakes locked up and he was powerless to avoid rearending the person in front of him. Upon checking the brake system, he took rotten the front passenger side wheel and the brakes fell to pieces on the concrete. We now know why his brakes inferior. He had only purchased this truck 2 or 3 weeks back the accident. He has also changed several parts lower than the front and rear end, the motor mounts and the steering system {pump and lines}. Someone told us here is a law stating that all steering and brakes are to be within 100% operating order when a vehicle is sold or traded and that it falls under a lemon statute. We are seriously considering seeking legal action but do not want to turn before a lawyer in need some knowledge of the right or wrong of this situation.
Answers:
Generally, the lemon law refer to new vehicles lone, except that: Your used vehicle may be covered under the Lemon Law. If your used vehicle is still covered by the manufacturer’s original warranty (not an extended service contract), or if the problem started while beneath warranty and it continues to exist, repair assistance of the warranty-related problem may be available to you.
Since this was a used truck from an individual, it be no doubt sold "as is" and you will have no recourse.
