What is Criminal Charges Injury to Personal Property surrounded by North Carolina?

One of my cousins just got charged near injury to personal property. His bond was at $400. He will not tell is what happen. Can someone please explain the details on this charge. We do reside in North Carolina. Does this charge have anything to do next to assault someone or what? Thanks for helping
My assumption is that he committed trespassing and was cited with a defilement of Article 23, Section 14-160, which is the willful and wanton injury to personal property:

§ 14160. Willful and wanton injury to personal property; punishments.
(a) If any person shall wantonly and willfully injure the personal property of another he shall be guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor.

(b) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (a), if any person shall wantonly and willfully injure the personal property of another, cause damage in an amount contained by excess of two hundred dollars ($200.00), he shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.

(c) This section applies to injuries to personal property without respect to whether the property is destroyed or not. (18767, c. 18; Code, s. 1082; 1885, c. 53; Rev., s. 3676; C.S., s. 4331; 1969, c.

----Without knowing the cost of damages that your cousin created, it's impossible to tell you whether he is being cited beside a Class 1 or Class 2 misdemeanor.
