Settlement amounts for Personal Injury related to an auto misfortune for a minor...?

Does anyone have any advice for a settlement amount for a small personal injury? I am not going to bring back an attorney, it was fairly minor. The quirk is totally on the other party, and they've settled $1200 for myself for minor whiplash, missed work, etc. ($500 of that was for distress and suffering). We're getting ready to settle on my son's settlement. His nose be fractured and he had a cut inside his mouth. His medical bills are approximately $1800, what should I expect for pain and suffering for him? I don't want to bear advantage, but I don't want to be taken advantage of... Never done this sort of item before, so any advice is extremely make the acquaintance of!! Thanks to all!!

After the settlement given to a man in a motorcycle twist of fate of the max. allowed for minor injuries & pain & suffering of $2500.00 , he sued to get more out of the insurance company, but the courts up-held the legislation, so he get $2500.00. If that new legislation for pain & suffering hadn't gone into effect, the settlement could enjoy been 8-10 times what he got. So, I don`t know you can judge from that.
