If I buy the UMBI should I buy the Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Coverage also?

Both cover bodily injury.
If an accident occurs, the other driver have responsbility and I only have the PIP... is that ample for me? Or should I buy the UMBI also?

THANKS!
Answers:
You should buy PIP. PIP pays for your medical bills and (sometimes) lost wages regardless of fault. The way any bodily injury coverage works is clearing for your pain and suffering as a result of someone else's negligence, but it does NOT pay your bills. UMBI is uninsured motorist bodily injury and it pays you if the other character at fault has no insurance. Your own insurance steps surrounded by as if they were that responsible party's carrier and settles next to you. If you have PIP then your bills receive paid while you are waiting to settle your bodily injury claim. Source(s): claims person
Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury protects you if you are hit by someone who doesn't own insurance. Your insurance would pay for your medical. You should also consider Uninsured Motorist property damage. This would protect your vehicle and compensate for damages to it if the person who hits you doesn't have insurance.
