How much should my daughter bring for her personal injury claim?
A little over a year ago, I backed into my 23 month old daughter next to the our car. A few months later our sports car insurance called and offered to settle her claim for $850. We were suprised that my daughter would find anything since I was the one that hit her. Our insurance explained that it was newly like her getting hit by someone else, or me hitting another child. We wanted to engender sure all her medical bills were anyone taken care of and our car insurance said yes they would. But we found out they didn't know everything she have been through and what her injuries were. Now our vehicle insurance has all the bills and the medical reports from the hospitals that she go to. Tomorrow they are suppose to call and offer a unknown settlement. My wife called around to both hospitals and both ambulance companies that we used and all the bills be about $10,000. Were not greedy, but we want to make sure my daughter get all the money she should. That's what the insurance is for after all.

Hypothetically if you have hit someone else's child, the insurance company's job would be to make sure you be protected against direct claims against you. So you should expect the same deal they'd pass to that other hypothetical parent. that might not necessarily pay all your bills, but I'd believably expect it to cover the majority.
I'd imagine they are experienced in dealing next to hospitals too. Hospitals charge a ridiculous "list price" to walk-in patients, but insurance companies pay a much reduced and fairer price call "reasonable and customary" to settle the bill. maybe they're gonna work some of that mojo so they discharge less and you're off the hook.
That's gotta hurt, my dad broke my leg accidentally contained by a sledding accident when I was 5, and he feel really bad about that for a long time. It can ensue to anyone.
Why didn't they know everything that she was going through? They will ask why they weren't infomed.
